This small book contains everything I’m sure my mom wanted to teach me about leadership in the work place but didn’t know how. Born in Haiti, she emigrated
to America with strong values, but with little experience and knowledge about corporate America. What she knew for sure though was that to succeed in any work environment, having confidence and having a strong work ethic are essential. When I came across this book in law school, I knew that I had to read it. Because I didn’t have access to or know of any black women who held leadership roles in the work place, I bought this book to serve as my “mentor.” This small but extremely powerful book is full of successful business and lifestyle tips written by women of color. It provides insight into understanding how to become more self aware and achieve your leadership goals. In a time where diversity and inclusion are needed more than ever, this book is a must read.
